CLINICAL STUDY: Pancreatitis in Cats

The Small Animal Internal Medicine Service at WSU is Conducting a Study to Evaluate Pain Score Assessment & PTHrP Levels in Cats Diagnosed with Pancreatitis

Pancreatitis is a difficult disease to diagnose in cats, as they tend to hide their discomfort. We will assess each patient for pain using 2 validated scoring systems in order to improve pain recognition and treatment strategies. Since PTHrP is a biomarker for pancreatitis in humans, our goal is to see if PTHrP is elevated in cats with pancreatitis.
